Life is a balancing act, and if we give our hearts to dogs, we are open for the ache of difficult decisions about life, and time...
KATIE had an incredible life. She was from our foundations, Jackie Oh and Hunter.
Born at the peak of Jackie's race career, she was destined to have a need for speed...
and headed to California to carry on the legacy....
only problem, racing proved not to be her best talent...
a bit clutzy over hurdles, and too zealous to pay attention.... and she came back to us as a mature bitch looking for a place to make forever...
She found it with us again, never to leave West Elk...
She chanelled her passion into rats and quarry. She loved to work and met Fox, Coon, and Groundhogs face to face. When we could not get to the field, she made due with rats... She was always in the ribbons in GTG and Super Earth as an adult, veteran and senior.
She won three National titles.
But the ribbons are not what we remember by her...
it was her...
She had the kindest eyes, she loved rub downs,
Don was her people, she was a wonderful mom.
She chased balls, and butterflies...and in the end,
had a dignity and grace that tugged our hearts.
She told us it was time, and we could not refuse her.
She lived life full tilt, and passed in our arms....
She runs free now,
watch for the little white dog in the sky....
